Purpose of study: Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious illness caused by coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) that results in a severe acute respiratory syndrome. The hallmark of COVID-19 is thromboembolic consequences, which can result in death even in COVID-19 individuals who are asymptomatic Aim and objectives: This study aimed to evaluate activated partial thromboplastin time(aPTT) ,International normalized ratio (INR) and D-dimer in COVID-19 patients and their association in COVID-19 coagulopathy . Basic procedures: The study was conducted on 54 subjects including 16 apparently healthy individuals (group II) with matched age and sex as a control group and 38 patients diagnosed having covid 19 infection by PCR , level of aPTT , INR and D-dimer were measured . Main findings: results of this study revealed that there was statistically significant increase in aPPT , INR and D-dimer in the COVID-19 patients when compared to the control group. Principle conclusion: Overall Coagulopathy is a serious complication . Therefore, markers of coagulation aPTT, INR and D-dimer are useful determinig and predicting fate of COVID-19 .
